Dear users,
Following the massive growth the Digital Asset Industry is experiencing, the attention given to the industry is increasing on a global scale. At the same time, fraudsters and financial criminals have started to look for their next victims in this industry. Some of these methods would include: Impersonating platform customer service representatives and requesting for users to transfer their assets, imitating professional traders and providing signals, taking advantage of certain regulations such as ceasing operations in certain regions to swindle users.
MEXC would like to remind all users: For your asset safety, please keep your passwords secure and safe, and do not believe in any “Join group chats for signals” or “Rumours” to avoid any potential losses.
MEXC has compiled a list of commonly seen examples of fraud, please carefully read through each to protect your assets.
Newest scams:
1 Under the pretense of MEXC ceasing operations in certain regions, baiting users to phishing sites;
Notes: SMS will only be sent for the purpose of logging in, MEXC will not send any other content through SMS.
2 Alerts of unverified orders, phishing scams guide users to similar looking websites to complete “Unfreeze Account” actions;
3 Impersonation of the MEXC Brand, conducting fraud through “MEXC Investment Project” or “To be Listed” scams.
Note: Please contact official MEXC staff for any projects related to investments and asset trading to avoid being scammed. All partnerships with MEXC should be deemed false before an official announcement has been made.
4 Under the pretense of “Legal Aid”, fraudsters would lead users to add them as friends and scam users by pretending to be “Signal providers”.
Typical scams would also include the following:
1 Adding your social accounts, asking for personal information, sending a link/QR code, and letting the user click to fill in account information, log in to the corresponding account and bank account, etc., and steal your assets through a series of operations .
2 Ask the user to remotely share login information with the fake "customer service". In addition, it will also use the verification to verify whether it is your own operation, and ask you for a mobile phone verification code, Google verification code or authorized remote login, etc., to steal account information.
3 Provide you with a false URL to guide you to withdraw coins to a so-called "secure account" or transfer to a designated account address to complete "account unfreezing", "asset conversion", etc, to further steal your assets.
4 Fake official text messages, emails, phone calls, etc., for reasons such as accounts involving pre-laundered money, high-risk accounts, freezing accounts, requesting operations to unblock, clearing users, ceasing services, and requesting to verify orders through text messages, etc. You withdraw coins to a so-called "secure account" and perform "asset conversion".
5 Create a group with fake MEXC official accounts, scams in the name of airdrops, project launches, swaps, interest-earnings, smart contracts, etc., and claim that they are the so-called "MEXC official" accounts.
